Super Bowl Set

We now know which 2 teams will play in SUper Bowl XLV. It will be the Green Bay Packers playing the Pittsburgh Steelers on February 6th in Cowboys Stadium.
The Packers made it by defeating their division rivals the Chicago Bears 21-14. Overshadowed by the allegations the Bears QB Jay Culter quit on his team.
In the late game the Steelers nearly blew a 24-3 first half lead against the New York Jets. The game ended 24-19. My favorite scene of the game was when the Steelers got a first down with under 2:00 to go that locked in the game. The camera went to Jets coach Rex Ryan as he threw his headset down in discust as he watched his team lose in their second straight AFC Championship game.
My prediction; Steelers- 24, Packers- 21. This will be the first game that I've ever predicted the score so I guess we'll see if I have a future in this (probably not).

WIldcat Wonder

The UK Wildcats were in Rupp Arena this Saturday as they took on the visiting LSU Tigers. The game ended with a 82-44 win for the cats in a game that they never lost the lead and at one point had a 38 point lead. We went 10-20 from behind the arch (3-point line) while holding LSU to a measily 26.2% shooting from the field (17-65). All of the action was in the first half , when the games started and it was still 0-0, when the half ended we were up 48-19. Brandon Knight lead the teams in scoring with 19 pts. Harrellson had 14 redounds and 3 blocks, and Terrence Jones scored 17.
Kentucky's next game is tonight at 7:00 on ESPN
tune in as we take on a surprising Alabama team on the road

Wild Card Weekend

It was the first weekend of the NFL PLayoffs and the surprises started right off the bat. In the first game of the round the defending Superbowl Champion Saints were stunned by the 7-9 Seahawks. The Seahawks locked the game in on an unbeliavable 67 yard TD run by Marshawn Lynch which put them up 11 points.
The other half of last seasons Super Bowl, the Indianapolis Colts were also eliminated Saturday Night when the New York Jets scored kicked a fieldgoal as time expired to win the game 17-16 and send Peyton Manning home until next year. I'll never say this again but thank you Nick Folk.
Sundays games were just as exciting. In the early game the Ravens dominated the Chiefs, who turned the ball over 5 times, 30-7. In the later game Michael Vick's unbeliavable comeback season ended with an interception which sealed the game for the Packers 21-16.
This set up a great Divisional weekend with these games: Packers @ Falcons, Seahawks @ Bears, Ravens @ Steelers, and Jets @ Patriots.
